Herb Remington
Herb Remington is certainly one of the most outstanding steel guitar stylists in the music field.  In 1946, western swing pioneer Bob Wills hired Remington for the Texas Playboys band and his ensuing four year stint as Wills' steel man was to become on of the most creative and productive periods in the young artists' career.

While with the Texas Playboys, Herb wrote and recorded the now famous instrumental, "Boot Heel Drag".  The tune was released by MGM Records on the flip side of Wills' all-time best remembered recording, "Faded Love".  After leaving Bob Wills, Herb joined Hank Penny's band, with which he recorded "Remington Ride" in 1949.

After a stint with T. Texas Tyler, Herb settled in Houston, Texas in the 1950's.  He appeared on numerous recordings by George Jones, Merle Haggard, and more legendary country music pioneers.   For many years, Herb and his talented wife, Mel, traveled the length and breadth of the country entertaining in top clubs with their Hawaiian troupe, "The Beachcombers."  Remington is in great demand today as a studio recording artist, sideman, and band leader.

Herb Remington’s Playboys perform as a 3 to 8 piece band, in matching western attire, and are most comfortable performing at a “conversational volume”.
